Working at Marlborough Valley Cellars gave Jules treasured insights into what grew finest the place, as a result of such a cross-part of the area’s grapes came across its presses. Jules Taylor Sauvinon Blanc has a radiant mild yellow hue, tinged with green and the dominant flavours are fresh and herbal layered over ripe tropical fruit & citrus notes. Several life-affirming vintages in Italy underscored Jules’ love of wine as a simple pleasure to be enjoyed alongside good food and great friends. Jules strongly believes wine should be more about creating nice reminiscences and less about status or cellaring potential. To say that Taylor knows sauvignon blanc is an understatement, she has grown and produced many remarkable examples over the years as well as advising, discussing and selling the range at quite a few wine gatherings.

When Jules launched her eponymous label in 2001, with begged grapes, borrowed vineyard and 400 instances of wine, she was moonlighting for the enjoyable of it. “I never imagined this would feed my non-existent household and I certainly didn’t assume I might ever surrender my actual job,” she says.
